Sweep Joint Sand
Part of project
Concrete Paver Patio · Step 9 of 10
In this video
After all pavers are laid and edge restraints are secured, the final crucial step is to fill the paver joints with polymeric sand. Spread a generous amount of polymeric sand over the entire patio surface. Using a stiff broom, sweep the sand into all the joints between the pavers, ensuring they are completely filled. Continue sweeping until no sand is visible on the paver surface, and all joints are packed. Then, gently mist the entire patio with water using a hose with a spray nozzle. The water activates the polymers in the sand, causing it to harden and lock the pavers together, preventing weed growth and insect infestation.
