Install Edge Restraints
Part of project
Concrete Paver Patio · Step 5 of 10
In this video
Once all the paver blocks are properly aligned and the border pieces are in place, install edge restraints around the perimeter of the patio. Edge restraints are crucial to keep all the pavers from shifting or moving over time. Lay the edging directly on the paver base panels, making sure it hugs the outer edge of the pavers. Then, use a rubber mallet or hammer to drive 8 to 10-inch landscape spikes through the designated holes in the paver base panels and into the ground to securely fasten the edge restraints.
