Install Edge Restraints
Part of project
Concrete Paver Patio · Step 5 of 10
In this video
After all pavers are laid, install the edge restraint system. This is crucial for preventing the pavers from shifting or spreading over time. First, pull away a small amount of the sand from the edges of the installed pavers, creating a small trench. Place the plastic edge restraint along the perimeter of the circular patio, snug against the pavers. Secure the edge restraint into the ground using steel spikes or large nails, hammering them through the designated holes in the restraint. Space the spikes according to the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure maximum stability.
