Locate the drain pump filter, usually found in the bottom left corner of the LG combo unit. Place a towel on the floor and a shallow bowl underneath the drain pump access panel. Open the access panel and remove the small drain hose, allowing any residual water to drain into the bowl. Once the water has fully drained, cap the hose and secure it back into its clip. Be careful, as these hoses can sometimes retract into the washer, requiring needle-nose pliers to retrieve. Next, unscrew the main drain pump filter and check for any lint, coins, or small items from pockets that might have accumulated. Rinse and scrub the filter clean under running water. Once clean, screw it back in tightly.
