First Cleaning Cycle (Baking Soda) — Clean the Drum
Part of project
Washing Machine Cleaning · Step 1 of 6
In this video
Begin the deep cleaning process by adding two cups (or one full box) of plain baking soda directly into the washing machine drum. This method is effective for both front-loading HE (High-Efficiency) washers and top-loading machines. After adding the baking soda, close the washing machine door. Select the hottest and longest wash cycle available on your machine and start the cycle. The baking soda will act as a mild scrubber to remove buildup and neutralize any accumulated odors.
