Apply a generous amount of construction wood adhesive onto each old stair tread, creating a strong bond. Carefully place the newly cut hardwood tread over the old one, aligning it precisely. Step and stand on the newly installed tread to apply pressure and ensure good adhesion with the construction adhesive. Repeat this process for all stair treads.
