After the glue-sawdust mixture has fully dried (which typically takes a few minutes, depending on the glue and environmental conditions), use fine-grit sandpaper to sand the filled area. Start with a medium-fine grit (e.g., 180-220 grit) to smooth any raised areas, then finish with a finer grit (e.g., 220-320 grit) to achieve a perfectly smooth, flush surface that blends seamlessly with the surrounding wood. Wipe away any remaining dust.
