Part of project
Stair Treads · Step 10 of 10
In this video
After any epoxy work and final sanding, thoroughly wipe down the entire wooden plank with a clean cloth, possibly dampened with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol, to remove all sanding dust and debris. Once clean and dry, apply a high-quality outdoor-grade protective finish, such as tung oil, spar varnish, or a marine-grade sealer. The video shows a wipe-on application. Apply the finish evenly, following the manufacturer's instructions for coats and drying times, to protect the wood from weathering, moisture, and UV damage.
