Clean Up Excess Glue — Step 6: Clean Up Squeeze-Out
Part of project
Stair Treads · Step 6 of 10
In this video
Immediately after inserting the dowels and while the glue is still wet, use a dry rag to wipe away any excess wood glue that squeezes out from around the dowel and joint line. Cleaning up the squeeze-out quickly will prevent it from drying on the wood surface, which can be difficult to remove later and can affect the final finish.
