Using the previously marked pilot hole locations (on the studs), take your drill and the appropriate 3/16 inch or 7/32 inch drill bit. Carefully pre-drill a pilot hole at each marked location. It's crucial to use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the lag screws you will be using. This allows the lag screws to tightly grip the wood of the studs, ensuring a secure mount. Before drilling, check the other side of the wall for any obstructions or electrical wires. If an electrical wire is present, it should ideally be protected by a metal plate behind the drywall.
