Installing Water Shut Off Valves On Copper Pipe
What happens here
Using a pipe cutter, carefully cut the copper stub-out pipes. The presenter recommends leaving approximately 2.5 to 3 inches of the copper pipe exposed from the wall. This length provides enough material for a solid solder joint and allows for potential future adjustments or repairs. After cutting, some residual water may drip from the pipes; ensure the catch basin is in place.
Goal: Shorten the copper pipes to the appropriate length for male adapter installation.
