How to make Beer Can Chicken

What happens here

Utilize the Traeger app (or grill display) to continuously monitor the current grill temperature and the internal temperature of the chicken. The app will alert you when the chicken reaches the target internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). For longer cooking sessions, such as with brisket, it is crucial to also monitor the pellet level in the grill's hopper. Running low on pellets can cause the grill's temperature to drop, potentially affecting the cook. The app can provide alerts for low pellet levels, preventing cooking issues. The host notes that he periodically refills his pellet hopper during long cooks.

Goal: Regularly check the internal temperature of the chicken and the pellet levels in the grill, especially for long cooks.

take about 45 minutes guys i thought i'd quickly show you the app so my grill is named little t and this is little t's information i just tap little t's info right here i want to go ahead and set our temperature goal so we can tap that our goal is 165 we confirm that goal 165 degrees so what it'll do when it reaches that goal and it's at 110 right now it'll alarm for me and tell me it's time to go ahead and take these critters off i also want to set my timer because i just don't want to go over time and we'll set the timer for one hour just in case something funky happens so you can see it already starting to count down uh that's the grill temp 348 degrees it's set at 350. the app is super super handy and it works anywhere so i can be way out on the farm mowing or something like that if i'm cooking a brisket for like eight or ten or even 24 hours it keeps me alerted if i have any issues and the issue you might run into with the smoker grill with the pellet grill like this is running low on pellets all of a sudden your temperature will drop and man you want to talk about messing up a nice cut of meat if you're cooking a brisket for 24 hours out here on the grill you need to be alerted when your pellets get low so always check your pellets again you can do this in the oven guys you don't have to have a pellet grill i really advocate for this thing because it's really helped me lose a lot of weight and start eating a lot better here on the farm cool we'll give her a little bit of time and break them out when they're done i can't wait to try these if you want to add a little more spice to your life take some honey and dribble it over the top about every 25 or 30 minutes you can mix a little honey and butter and you can baste it if you want to if you want to add a little more of a sweet flavor profile i think we're going to be just fine the way we are
