(10,532 characters)oh the juice is just rolling out of these birds man folks in today's video we are going to make delicious beer can chicken on the grill it's going to be awesome hey there folks this is josh stoney ridge farmer welcome back to another awesome food fridays here in the stoney ridge farm kitchen we're getting ready to take these two farm fresh birds and make beer can chicken for you guys two different ways we're gonna have some fun we're gonna be putting these on the traeger smoker grill you can do this on any grill you don't have to have a pellet grill or a traeger grill if you're interested i'll post links to all the stuff that i'm using in the video down in the video description below if you want to get yourself a traeger they're awesome i tell you what it's a life changer i've lost nearly 70 pounds just by grilling myself so come along today as we show you guys how to make beer can chicken out of these giant farm fresh cornish cross meat birds that we raised right here on the farm all right folks welcome to the stoney ridge farm channel this is your first time here or your 500th time here please pound that like button this is food fridays it's a new segment that i'm doing on the channel every friday so you guys can learn cool interesting and fun recipes to cook with your family or just by yourself so what we're going to be doing here these are very very large birds okay this is probably dressed out an 8 chicken these are big big birds that we have here from the farm what we're going to be doing here is we're going to be dressing these guys up and we're going to be putting them on the smoker grill the traeger pellet smoker grill you can do this again on a regular grill you just need to control your temperature just a little bit we have our temperature set at 350 degrees and what our internal temperatures of our meat birds need to be is about 165 degrees the cool thing about having the traeger and i'm not trying to sell you a traeger i'm just trying to tell you what makes things awesome what makes them cool you can monitor your temperature right from your phone and it will alert you when your food is ready so if you're out and about doing stuff in your yard or on your farm like we're gonna do we get an alert everything's ready we come and we take everything off the grill so 165 degrees is what our goal temperature is for these critters i've got big beer cans so i've got foster's australian i'm not an advocate for fosters it's got pretty decent flavor and our chickens are huge man so we needed a bigger beer can this this beer can is a monster compared to a standard can or a little skinny michelob ultra can so the two seasonings i'm going to be using this is from pit patriots this is a tex-mex habanero seasoning i also use a lot of stuff from meat church and this is just weber kickin chicken seasoning right here so what we're gonna do is we have more of the weber we're gonna put more on the big chicken and we're gonna just lather these guys up slather them down with some uh with some grub so uh again kicking chicken seasoning we'll just go ahead and get started this ain't rocket science guys but it is a little scientific okay you want the outside of your bird to be just a little bit wet you could pat them dry and then put a binder on there like mustard or something but i don't like to do all that we'll put a little seasoning in the inside we're going to slather on this seasoning pretty thick here guys because we want it to stick and we want all that delicious flavor in our bird the reason i'm doing this in these trays is because i can scoop up anything that might waste so these trays are really really awesome to have and they're great for putting your bird in once it comes out of the grill what we're trying to do is bring the moisture from the beer up into the chicken and again we're using falstas i hear fosters is not australian for beer if you live in australia guys let me know so this is the tex-mex habanero and again you see how thick and heavy i'm putting it on there this is going to be a little bit spicier bird i like spicy definitely like spicy we'll roll this over hit patriots reached out to me and they sent me some seasonings gosh a while back not getting paid to show it but that's a veteran-owned company that makes seasonings like this something really cool okay we'll let the birds kind of rest like this for just a second not long and any seasoning left over in the bottom of the pan will sprinkle on these guys once we get them in the smoker grill now for the first beer can chicken what we want to do is open the cavity up right here this large cavity and we're going to slip it over this beer can just like so boom look at that provides a stand for your chicken to cook on cool we'll put a little bit more seasoning up here on the top isn't that cool that's awesome this chicken here is a little smaller so hopefully we can get to get him up on the beer can too oh look at that nice we'll take these guys out to the grill [Music] oh ho yummy look at this man that is super super cool so we're going to set oh this heavy guy over here to the side and we're just going to go ahead and place them on the traeger i hope i'm saying the prayer right now the uh the chef's prayer that the traeger is tall enough to fit these critters in if not we might have to do a little canectomy and cut the can off i want that beer flavor to go in there and steam the inside of that chicken so we've already preheated the traeger to 350 degrees this is our smaller bird we'll go ahead and get them in first oh yeah just right there we'll take our temperature probe which is already in here we'll go ahead and stick that in just like so and the thickest part of the breast here what we're shooting for is 165 degrees let's get big daddy bird oh look at that that's awesome oh we get them in there these they're just right just absolutely perfect let's bring this guy out just a little we'll sprinkle the rest of that seasoning on there very simply same thing with this critter we're going to close her up and remember you ain't cooking if you look it so don't be looking just watch that temperature probe it's going to take about 45 minutes guys i thought i'd quickly show you the app so my grill is named little t and this is little t's information i just tap little t's info right here i want to go ahead and set our temperature goal so we can tap that our goal is 165 we confirm that goal 165 degrees so what it'll do when it reaches that goal and it's at 110 right now it'll alarm for me and tell me it's time to go ahead and take these critters off i also want to set my timer because i just don't want to go over time and we'll set the timer for one hour just in case something funky happens so you can see it already starting to count down uh that's the grill temp 348 degrees it's set at 350. the app is super super handy and it works anywhere so i can be way out on the farm mowing or something like that if i'm cooking a brisket for like eight or ten or even 24 hours it keeps me alerted if i have any issues and the issue you might run into with the smoker grill with the pellet grill like this is running low on pellets all of a sudden your temperature will drop and man you want to talk about messing up a nice cut of meat if you're cooking a brisket for 24 hours out here on the grill you need to be alerted when your pellets get low so always check your pellets again you can do this in the oven guys you don't have to have a pellet grill i really advocate for this thing because it's really helped me lose a lot of weight and start eating a lot better here on the farm cool we'll give her a little bit of time and break them out when they're done i can't wait to try these if you want to add a little more spice to your life take some honey and dribble it over the top about every 25 or 30 minutes you can mix a little honey and butter and you can baste it if you want to if you want to add a little more of a sweet flavor profile i think we're going to be just fine the way we are boiler alert 165 degrees it's been exactly one hour guys i can smell the deliciousness getting ready to come out of this grill i'm super excited for that so we've got our 210 pans aluminum pans and we're going to take the chicken off of the beer can and set it down over in the tin pan and then we'll slice off and get a little taste of this i cook two chickens at once because i've got to fire the traeger there's no use in waste wasting pellets there's no use in wasting energy so i'll cook these two chickens and i'll nibble on them all week long you can make chicken salad chicken sandwiches all sorts of stuff and then i'll be tired of chicken by the end of the week and i'll make some steak next week awesome so let's open this guy up and get the view daddy lake oh man that looks good awesome we'll take our temperature probe out and we'll let these guys rest in the tin containers these are called grilling gloves they're super super handy for stuff like this when you've gotta handle a hot cut of meat so basically i'm just gonna raise this guy up our beer can should slide right out of the bottom that can out oh and get them over here i might just take a little bit of this beer and pour it in here there we go get some flavor next one this was a little bit bigger bird pick him up oh the juice is just rolling out of these birds man what a great way to cook chicken out comes the can look at that man delish now don't have to worry about greasy hands just take soap and water and rinse these guys off and hang them up for next time now for my favorite part about food fridays oh look at that this is gonna be delicious oh so moist and juicy yeah let's see what this tastes like oh my goodness all right so good oh beer can chicken guys that's how you make beer can chicken mmm so good we'll take these chickens in the house we'll let them rest for about 45 minutes and then i'll take them and i'll totally de-bone them except for the wings the thighs and the legs and i'll put those in separate containers so we'll have awesome chicken breasts to eat on all week long guys pound that like button please let me know what you think about this beer can chicken my mouth is watering it is so absolutely delicious i got more farm work to do so i've got to let you guys go please pound the like button jump in subscribe the channel love to have you back here for another farm video or another food friday we gotta eat right
