Step 8 · Assemble the New PVC Section (If Needed)
This is the step people usually slow down on. Go finger-tight first, then a quarter turn. No rush — replay the clip whenever it helps.
If your repair requires any bends, you will need to assemble the PVC section using fittings. First, dry-fit the PVC pipe and any PVC fittings (like elbows or couplings) to ensure everything lines up correctly. Once satisfied with the fit, disassemble the parts. Apply PVC primer to the outside of the pipe end and the inside of the fitting socket. Follow immediately with a layer of PVC cement over the primer on both surfaces. Push the pipe into the fitting with a quarter-turn twist and hold for 30 seconds to allow the cement to set.
