Step 3 · Mark the Cut Lines

Identify the cracked section of the pipe. Using a tape measure and a permanent marker or grease pencil, mark two cut lines on the pipe. These lines should be on either side of the crack, ensuring the entire damaged area is removed. Leave at least 2 inches of straight, undamaged pipe beyond the crack on both sides to provide a good surface for the new couplings.
