Apply the finish by moving in long, smooth strokes with the direction of the wood grain. Avoid overworking the finish or applying it too thickly, as this can lead to drips, sags, or an uneven sheen. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly as per the product's instructions, which can range from 4 to 24 hours depending on the type of finish and environmental conditions.
