Step 11 · Apply Subsequent Coats of Finish

Apply the second coat of finish using the same method as the first, ensuring an even application and working with the grain. Allow this coat to dry completely. Once dry, perform another light sanding with fine-grit sandpaper or a sanding screen, followed by thorough dust removal. Repeat this process for a third coat, or more, if necessary to achieve the desired durability and aesthetic. The number of coats depends on the type of finish and the expected wear of the floor. Allow the final coat to cure fully before allowing foot traffic.
