What happens here

This project details the process of running a 100 amp SER (Service Entrance Rated) cable to install a new subpanel for a detached garage. It involves careful planning of the cable route, drilling through an exterior wall into a basement, routing the heavy-gauge cable under an outdoor deck, and then through the customer's basement ceiling to the main electrical panel.

Okay, day in the life of a 24-y old electrician. So, first thing I do is I wake up, put in my Timberland work shoes. These are great and lightweight. I mainly do residential electric, so these are perfect. I go to my van, get my materials. Today, we're installing a sub panel for a detach garage. So, we are running 100 amp STR cable, which is rated for outdoor installation. I ended up using my drill and made a hole from the outside into the customer's basement, as their main electrical panel was located there, and that was our power source. So, we were able to figure out the best route to run the wire which was under the deck to the detach garage as this used the least amount of wire cuz this was a 100 amp aluminum three wire. So, it's not cheap. Once we got to the basement, we got the whole family team involved to run the wire. Even my master electrician dad came to give a hand. Once we got the wire ran to the panel, I ended up just curling it and tucking it away because it was getting late. Most of our time was used to run the wire cuz man, that wire is thick. It's like an anaconda. I get off my ladder, check my work, do a little celebration dance. I put my tools away and that's what a day in the life of electrician looks like.
