Step 4 · Remove Grass from Container

Gently tip the nursery pot on its side and slide the ornamental grass out. If the plant is stuck, you may need to tap the sides of the pot or gently pull on the base of the grass clump. Avoid pulling on the foliage. If the roots are tightly wound around the root ball (root-bound), gently loosen them with your fingers or a small tool.
