Kitchen Sink Drain Repair (Easy DIY Fix)
What happens here
Begin by unscrewing the nuts on the existing P-trap. These nuts should ideally be hand-tightened, but if they are stuck, a pair of channel locks may be needed. Once loosened, the P-trap and the corrugated extension tube can be carefully pulled apart and removed. Position the paint tray liner directly under the P-trap as it is disconnected to catch any water trapped inside. Observe the inside of the removed pipes; the video shows significant debris buildup, confirming the issues caused by the flexible pipe design. Also, note any old plumber's putty or sealant that may have been used on the connections.
Goal: Disconnect and remove the existing P-trap and flexible drainpipe.
