Kitchen Sink Drain Repair (Easy DIY Fix)

What happens here

After the entire drain system is installed, perform a thorough leak test. Turn on the sink faucet, allowing a steady stream of water to run down the drain. Visually inspect all connections under the sink, including the basket strainer nut and all P-trap connections, for any signs of dripping or moisture. Next, fill the sink completely with water, then pull the stopper to quickly drain a large volume of water. Again, check all connections under the sink, as a sudden rush of water can sometimes reveal leaks that a slow trickle might not. Continue to observe for a few minutes to ensure no delayed leaks appear. If everything remains dry, the installation is successful.

Goal: Verify the new drain system is watertight and fully functional.
