Kitchen Sink Drain Repair (Easy DIY Fix)
What happens here
The new basket strainer features a modern design that eliminates the need for plumber's putty or silicone for sealing. It comes with two rubber washers: a white one for the top side of the sink and a blue one for the bottom side. Begin by placing the white rubber washer over the top threaded portion of the basket strainer, ensuring it sits flush. Then, insert the basket strainer assembly into the clean drain hole from the top of the sink, making sure the white washer creates a tight seal against the sink surface. From underneath the sink, install the blue rubber washer, with its smooth side facing upwards towards the sink, onto the threaded portion of the basket strainer.
Goal: Properly install the new basket strainer using its integrated rubber washers for a watertight seal.
