Built-In Camping Grill with Cooler Cart

What happens here

Assemble the grill compartment in the same manner as the cooler compartment, using L-shaped corner brackets, side panels, wood glue, and 1-1/4 inch screws. Once the box for the grill is complete, use a table saw to carefully cut the compartment horizontally through the middle, separating it into two identical halves. These halves will serve as the top and bottom sections of a clamshell-style grill enclosure.

Goal: Build a two-part, clamshell-style enclosure for the portable grill.

Tools and materials

  • 1-1/4 inch Screws — Securing the panels to the corner brackets
  • 1x4 Cedar Boards — Forming the walls of the grill compartment
  • Cordless Drill DeWalt — Driving screws
  • Hearing Protection — Ear protection during table saw operation
  • L-shaped Corner Brackets — Forming the structural corners of the grill compartment
  • Safety Glasses — Eye protection during power tool operation
  • Table Saw Magna — Splitting the assembled compartment into two halves
  • Wood Glue — Strengthening the joints

Hide

half long pieces and a few Brad nails later the section looks nice and framed out when building the drill compartment I built the exact same way as I built cooler now the only thing I did differently here is I split it down the middle on my table saw to create the top and bottom part of it kind of like how we learn to build drooly boxes in woodshop that way when you close it it's a perfect match to it for the top it needed basically a roof if you will so I cut up some pieces added some pocket
