With the shower pan flipped upside down, apply a generous ring of plumber's putty to the underside of the drain flange. Insert the drain flange through the drain hole from the top side of the pan. From the underside, place the rubber and cardboard gaskets over the drain threads, and then hand-tighten the locknut. Use a drain wrench to fully tighten the nut, creating a secure seal. Finally, turn the pan back over and use your finger to remove any excess plumber's putty that has squeezed out around the drain flange.
