The drain assembly must be attached to the shower pan before installation. First, ensure the protective plastic film is completely removed from the drain area of the pan. Apply a continuous bead of 100% silicone caulk under the flange of the main drain body. From the top of the shower pan, insert the drain body into the drain hole. On the underside of the pan, slide the rubber gasket up the threads, followed by the fiber gasket. Screw on the locking nut and hand-tighten it. To fully tighten, use a specialized tool or a flat bar inserted into the slots of the drain body from the top, and turn it with a screwdriver or pliers until the nut on the bottom is secure. Clean up any excess caulk on the top surface with a rag.
