Step 8 · Sand and Clean

After the wood filler has dried, lightly sand any high spots or rough areas using a fine-grit sandpaper or sanding sponge. The goal is to create a smooth transition between the filler/caulk and the molding. Once sanded, wipe down the entire length of the crown molding and the adjacent walls and ceiling with a tack cloth or a slightly damp cloth to remove all dust and debris.
