You Won't believe what we're milling with the Woodmizer!

What happens here

Before starting the sawmill, ensure the Wood-Mizer LT40 is properly set up. This involves setting the blade tension, which the presenter mentions is typically 3000 PSI for this model. The sawmill is a hydraulic model, allowing for hydraulic lifting and turning of logs. A water tank containing lubricant (blue liquid) is attached to the sawmill, which lubricates the saw blade as it cuts through the log and helps clear sawdust. The sawdust is ejected to the side, forming a pile for easy cleanup.

Goal: Configure and understand the functions of the portable sawmill.

Tools and materials

  • Sawmill Controls — Operating the sawmill's lift, turn, and blade functions
  • Water Tank — Supplying lubricant to the saw blade
  • Lubricant — Lubricating the saw blade during cutting
