What happens here
Once the cant is squared, the main lumber production begins. For the raised garden beds, 2-inch by 12-inch boards are cut. The sawmill blade passes through the cant, producing consistent-thickness boards. The dad assists by removing the freshly cut boards from the sawmill bed, stacking them for later use. Some thinner 1-inch boards are also cut from the outer sections of the cant, which will be edged later and used for siding and stickers for drying lumber.
Goal: Produce dimensioned lumber from the squared cant.
