Installing Ridge Vent and Ridge Cap

Worst roof install ever!
What happens here
After the shingles are installed, a ridge vent is placed along the peak of the roof. This replaces the old, ineffective round vents. The ridge vent is a long, narrow vent that runs continuously along the ridge line. It's designed with internal baffling and/or mesh to allow hot, moist air to escape the attic while preventing rain, snow, debris, and pests (like stink bugs) from entering. Ridge cap shingles are then installed over the ridge vent, concealing it and creating a finished, aesthetically pleasing look. This system, combined with soffit vents at the eaves, creates a complete and efficient airflow system that dissipates heat and moisture from the attic, significantly improving the home's energy efficiency and preventing condensation and mold issues.
Goal: Establish effective attic ventilation to prevent heat and moisture buildup.
