Day of farm chores with Ms. Stoney Ridge! Is she ready for farm life?

folks today on the Stony Ridge Farm Channel I want to show you how I can get my lady to help me pick up rocks hey there folks this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer and Miss Denny Ridge and we are back we're back in action on the farm and today we're going to be doing a bunch of chores around the farm so come along as we have some fun Gathering up some things we're doing some stuff that it really takes two to do and I'm glad to have my partner back so let's go have some fun all right I ain't a freedom hopefully I ain't afraid to get the job done way [Music] all right I ain't afraid of lie times like this you've missed my freedom my team is what you can kiss are you ready I'm ready let's do it I'm ready too so first thing we've got to do we're on the Kubota right now we got to run and move the cows real quick we moved them this morning it's evening move time and that means evening fun time so we're also going to take the leaf blower along with us and we're gonna blow the road off as we drive down through so when wheels are in motion on the farm I don't care if it's on the Kubota or on a tym tract or whatever when wheels are in motion work needs to be getting done so every time I drive out when I'm not filming a live stream I'm blowing stuff off this time of year what we've got in the back let me just show you this is a Toro leaf blower Flex Force leaf blower awesome awesome Critter and it's all I really need to take care of the jobs at hand here on the Stoney Ridge Farm next we're going to load up some water tanks we might load up water tanks before we even start blowing the leaves we're going to take them over to the other side of the farm where we're going to store them in long-term storage these are tartar Farm and Ranch water tanks and then we're going to pick up rocks doesn't that sound like fun let's do it yeah it's going to be awesome okay nope let's grab the two little ones first go ahead and put your end in there first and now push there we go what do you think can we fit one more on there [Music] no I don't think so I don't think so [Music] guys if you haven't seen Uncle Jesse yet that's Uncle Jesse I haven't gotten missed the Stoney Ridge opinion on Uncle Jesse what do you think Uncle Jesse has some character yeah [Music] air conditioning fall weather is absolutely gorgeous here on the farm [Music] for you to hand me the leaf blower okay okay you've got the camera okay yeah now you know my secret on how I do the leaf blowing on the farm huh that's it so I just run it until the battery dies and then we'll replace the battery and next time I come back down here we'll clean the road off again let's head over to the cows so guys if you don't know all around us here is 150 acre first generation regenerative Farm what we have are 35 Angus beef cows and we move them every 12 hours to a new section of pasture out here and you can see it's all separated by this poly wire it's an electrified string basically so we're going to be opening up a new section of pasture to the cows this is the second time today tune in to the live stream channel and you'll see me do this about five days a week oh that looks a little bit high for you to go over can you handle it sure no problem cool I didn't get you I got it so these are the moo cows that's Freedom that's karate cow these are the youngins that's butt head this is the water uh tank right here this is a marathon 3390 frost-free water tank they push down that little blue ball I'll show you guys real quick and inside is the water that's it you guys ready to move whoo Butthead is one of my favorite cows and Butthead got the name butthead because of this he likes she likes to butt all right girls let's go you too girl let's go can you open this one here no come on over the fence you got it there you go good jump so guys just so you know me and Miss Stoney Ridge have been back together for about two months now and she's moved the cow several times so we're gonna let her do all the leg work today it's really really simple we're just going to open a new section of pasture to the cows hey cows how you doing how's everybody doing this is a little guy that had a hurt foot he's doing much better okay get it girl I got it call him [Applause] hello [Music] let's go hey guys hey everybody what do you think cowgirl they're doing a fine job all right who does it there are food but just because they're going to be our food at some point doesn't mean we have to mistreat our animals we got to treat them with respect last but not least we got some stragglers here and they'll go ahead and move into this pasture without us we don't even need to worry about it we just opened up a new section they have access back to the water and they are good to go there you are I have my shadow on you so we're going to go ahead and unload those uh tanks we're going to load up four or five more I think they're just scattered all over the farm that's what I used to use for the cows to water them back before we had the mirror Fount water set up so there's about a mile of water line in the ground here so watch the poopy mud pies that's not mud the elephant in the room I get this all the time and I want you guys to understand as a first generation Farm as we work together as Farmers we have to listen we have to listen to one another we have to Direct One Another what to do to be safe and smart Okay so I get this all the time whenever Miss Stoney Ridge is on a video with me you're bossing her around am I bossing you around no I don't feel like you're bossing me around we've got to be safe we've got to work together and we have a team lead and a team follow or a team walk beside right so she's my right hand man slash Whoa man and in order for us to be successful at this one of us has to direct the other one as to what needs to be done so as we work together you'll see that and that's just normal guys and I don't understand why people really psychoanalyze that I don't I mean what do you think you see it on the comments all the time I just stepped in a huge pile of poop we're walking talking yeah um no I agree and it's about working together and usually we get up in the morning and we discuss what needs to be done and yeah we're doing things on the farm if you've set something up specifically you can do something better you guide me and show me the best way to do it and sometimes what I have in my mind is the best way of doing it isn't always the best way so you just guide me and show me yeah we work together that's it we got team lead and team team teammate that's it so guys if I say hey can you lift that a little higher or whatever gosh don't get me in the comments section I man it's families are not used to working together they're only used to playing together and it seems like the most important part of farming is being able to work together so understand that we have to work together and we both will tell each other what needs to be done right absolutely that's it Go Team let's go team [Music] good deal guys this is Grandma's first appearance on the Stoney Ridge Farm Channel this is my granny hello here to visit how you doing granny good chores are gonna take a break for a minute will you grab that bucket right there and just put it in the garage right there for me it's a bucket full of chains guys this morning yeah you don't want to try that's a heavy heavy duty thing right there let's see if I can pick it up let's see let's see what he got oh you did it easy I don't know about easy surgery all right and if you'll bring your bucket over there open the chicken coop door for me oh take care of the chickens there you go okay [Applause] birdies thirsty chickens hey guys don't knock the water off there we go okay here is a farm note note to self guys if you're buying chicken waterers like these Waters that we have here for our chickens do not buy the red ones see it it's busted right there the green ones hold up the red ones don't just so you know we are rapidly running out of daylight I hope we get to the Rocks parents coming to visit kind of got us didn't it hockey mushroom logs now we don't have any blooming shiitakes right now but we will have blooming shiitakes pretty soon once I plant more we'll put that tub down there so well we'll explain it to you when we get down there it's pretty cool get that water get that water always good when we can let the dogs run with us a little bit right yeah okay come on [Music] so this is the Stoney Ridge Falls right here it's a little waterfall we've got on the farm and this is where my shiitake mushroom logs are and there's some shiitakes down here which is pretty cool get that water get that water this is Stoney Ridge Falls Good Times get that water now these are shiitake mushroom logs right here and we do have a fresh shiitake two fresh shiitakes on here so we'll be taking those home with us yummy yummy yummy there's one there this is Stoney Ridge will you hold that thank you and we've got another one moving right over here oh all right oh there now this isn't the best shiitake mushroom right here but they're in pretty decent shape and they'll make an awesome meal for us tonight with some grass-fed hamburger right sounds good awesome we'll stick those on the Kubota this is a water tank and a chair this water tank is going to sit down here it's going to kind of sit up on the ridge just a little bit like right over there that is a firebox right there that has all my stuff for Fire Starting down here this is like a little camp out hangout spot on the farm come on over here Mr Stoney Ridge um we're gonna unload and we're gonna put it right there the reason we're putting this big water tank here is because it has a drain right there okay we will use this to get our shiitake mushrooms to fire off in other words get them to bloom the way we'll do that is we'll drop one of these logs into the tank with water in it let it soak overnight pull it back out and it'll bloom it has that took a long time huh yeah it did yeah and I didn't expect that to be that much of a chore we're into it three hours just moving stuff back and forth how are your ears they're okay the government is loud the Kubota is loud and slow guys I honestly this thing is a tank but what do you think it's just too loud and too slow yeah it's very loud and it's very slow we're going about 13 miles an hour and it's just working so hard yeah I I'm uh I have had it I mean I've honestly had it we're we're in the market for something else uh this this thing if you need to get somewhere in a hurry and you're on the farm this is not the tool for you I'm going to tell you that right now now to haul people around it's a tank it'll probably last 10 000 hours but you'll be ten thousand hours and you'll be deaf when you get done because it's super loud yeah so if you guys saw the video last week and I'll post a link at the end of this video we seeded all this and put down straw and we got kind of rained out and these are some of the rocks and debris so what's underneath here is the primary power line for the Mega shop you can see it up through the bushes right there so we have to get all these rocks up and some of them are too big to pick up we're gonna get the ones that aren't too big and we'll put them in gullies on the farm so that the farm doesn't wash right sounds good let's do it all right Rock picking that takes the romance out of farming I think it's pretty romantic right we've picked up Rock since day one end of the day we're tired just makes it for good snuggling [Music] another long day on the farm getting dark on us uh I want to thank you guys so much for joining us here on the Stoney Ridge this is the collection of rocks that we
