What happens here
Locate the engine oil filter, which is typically a cylindrical canister attached to the side of the engine. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the old oil filter by turning it counter-clockwise. Once loose, carefully remove the old filter, being mindful of any residual oil that might drip into the drain pan positioned below. Dispose of the old filter properly according to local regulations. Take the new engine oil filter (Fram PH10792), apply a thin film of fresh engine oil to its rubber gasket to ensure a good seal. Then, screw the new filter onto its housing by hand until it's snug. Use the oil filter wrench to give it an additional quarter to half turn, or as specified by the manufacturer, to ensure it's securely tightened but not overtightened.
Goal: Install a new engine oil filter to ensure proper oil filtration.
