There’s Not Enough Room For This Build

What happens here

The video begins with the presenter on the construction site, providing an overview of the progress made since excavation. He highlights the completed foundation forms, which are wooden structures reinforced with rebar, ready for concrete pouring. An inspector has already reviewed and approved the rebar setup. The presenter explains that the foundation will be poured in two steps: first the footings (approximately 8 inches tall), and then the stem walls. Some parts of the stem wall will be buried, while others will remain exposed to prevent water drainage issues. He also mentions the subsequent step of waterproofing the buried sections of the stem wall to prevent moisture from seeping into the structure.

Goal: Understand the current state of the foundation and upcoming concrete pouring process.

hey guys welcome back to episode two of building an A-frame Cabin in the Woods we got a really exciting day today the biggest things are happening today and I'm so excited to show you we've made a long way through we went from excavation to digging our footings and today as you can see we got a big day we're actually going to start pouring our foundation so the inspector came out they want to make sure they see all this rebar before the concrete gets poured this is going to be in a two-step process where the footings are going to get poured I believe they're about 8 in tall once that's done tomorrow they're going to take these molds off and build new molds where the actual stem wall over the foundation is going to come up now it's going to come up quite a bit because we're going to bury some of it below and leaving some exposed so that when water starts draining it doesn't start flooding into it second thing they're going to do is after these footings and the stem wall up poured they're going to start waterproofing it and they're going to just basically roll on a waterproofing on the side of the stem wall that's going to be Beed on the ground again to keep any of the moisture from seeping back into it I don't know if you can tell by the uh the fact that I'm holding my voice but it's going to be a very exciting day today so the cement truck should be pulling up here any minute now um this is going to be kind of interesting because the driveway is not narrow but all the roads coming here are we got a cement truck and we got a pump with the whole crane situation I honestly don't know how they're going to
