There’s Not Enough Room For This Build

What happens here

After the concrete work is completed, the presenter showcases the finished footings and stem walls of the cabin foundation. He highlights the black waterproofing applied to the exterior of the stem walls, which will be buried. This waterproofing acts as a barrier against moisture and frost, protecting the concrete. He explains that the backfilling of soil against these waterproofed walls will prevent moisture intrusion and frost damage, crucial for the longevity of the foundation. The presenter then discusses the next major step: framing the entire structure, expressing excitement for the project's increasing scale.

Goal: Review the completed concrete foundation and prepare for the framing stage.

[Music] all right it's been about a week we're finally back the concerete guys are done with everything we got our footings and our stem wall finally poured in as you can see this black tar here that's the waterproofing all this is going to get back filled right so when the frost settles in all of this is going to prevent any kind of moisture from getting seeped into and compromising the Jeopardy of our concrete stem wall or getting potentially into our crawl space creating more uh moisture I guess and though this looks super high you got to understand there's going to be all this back filling so when the dirt comes up it's going to go up to the line here this is going to be our exposed area and because we're building an A-frame the thing is going to basically sit here and then we're going to have this much space from any kind of you know breathability we have little air vents right over here to make sure there's no moisture building up in here this is looking sick this is so incredible we got to we got to celebrate somehow all right so the next thing we got going on right now is we're going to be setting our septic tank which is super exciting we already got our first stamp of approval for our speculative site potentially where the drain field will go in proportions to water sources the the property lines all that jazz got all figured out got our first approval uh Tanner and This Crew got the drain field all laid out we got our drain pipes in there for the septic tank we have our gravel rock in there to ensure all the drainage we have our weed barrier fabric down uh and then once they're ready they got last piece of Plumbing in there we're going to figure out where we're actually going to drop the tank we're originally going to put it over there but we have a bunch of dirt there and uh that's going to be kind of inconvenient so somewhere up here he'll let me know what he's thinking a lot of moving Parts you know you might have a good solid plan but things come about especially everything comes down to when you're working on a sloped property yes the Killer part is the view that's what we're here for but you know there's there's a lot of hiccups to in the way
