There’s Not Enough Room For This Build

What happens here

The presenter and his crew work to prepare additional footings for the cabin's deck. This involves digging deeper holes into the earth where concrete sonotubes (cardboard forms) will be placed. They manually dig these holes with shovels, indicating a need for precise placement and depth. The sonotubes are then inserted into these holes. A concrete pump is maneuvered to carefully pour concrete into each sonotube, filling them to the required level for the deck's support posts. This careful operation ensures stability for the future deck structure.

Goal: Install concrete footings for the cabin's deck.

let's get back to this video we're trying to measure these Sona tubes we need an extra foot to get them properly spaced out what the plants call for I'm just glad to pump shart guy Matt had a shovel on hand cuz or else I use my bare claws see I'm doing some of the work on this project earning my keep how's it looking good man good sweet oh look at that I went too [Applause] far all right I'm back in business we got to get these footings for the deck set up here and we got a tree that's directly in line with the boom of the pump Matt's trying to get it right through it without breaking the tree and we don't want to move the truck right now cuz it's all set up with the base plates and all we'll see how we do better get out of the way you son of a gun you did it no trees no trees were harmed in this operation dude that's that's that's a clutch operation right there [Music] all right it's been about a week we're finally back the concerete guys are done with everything we got our footings and our stem wall finally poured in as you can see this black tar here that's the waterproofing all this is going to get back filled right so when the frost settles in all of this is going to prevent any kind of moisture from getting seeped into and compromising the Jeopardy of our concrete stem wall or getting potentially into our crawl space creating more uh moisture I guess and though this looks super high you got to understand there's going to be all this back filling so when the dirt comes up it's going to go up to the line here this is going to be our exposed area and because we're building an A-frame the thing is going to basically sit here and then we're going to have this much space from any kind of you know breathability we have little air vents right over here to make sure there's no moisture building up in here this is looking sick this is so incredible we got to we got to celebrate somehow all right so the next thing we got going on right now is we're going to be setting our septic tank which is super exciting we already got our first stamp of approval for our speculative site potentially where the drain field will go in proportions to water sources the the property lines all that jazz got all figured out got our first approval uh Tanner and This Crew got the drain field all laid out we got our drain pipes in there for the septic tank we have our gravel rock in there to ensure all the drainage we have our weed barrier fabric down uh and then once they're ready…
