Repair Your Drywall in 3 EASY STEPS! Prepping Walls to Paint
What happens here
Wall anchors, especially plastic ones, can be difficult to remove. If they cannot be pulled out, use the back end of a putty knife or the butt end of a multi-tool to hammer them further into the wall. This action pushes the anchor below the surface of the drywall, creating an indentation that can then be filled. Once indented, apply spackle generously over the area using a wider putty knife. Press the spackle firmly into the indentation and across the surrounding area. Use firm, sweeping motions with the putty knife to spread the compound and scrape off excess, ensuring a smooth transition with the existing wall. For larger holes, using a wider putty knife will help achieve a flatter and more consistent finish.
Goal: For plastic wall anchors, hammer them further into the wall to create an indentation, then apply spackle with firm pressure using a wider putty knife to ensure proper filling and a flat surface.
