Patching a Hole in a Wall and Using Spray Texture. Tips Using Homax spray texture.

What happens here

Start spraying directly from the middle of the wall patch. Hold the can approximately one foot away from the wall. Apply the texture using a quick, continuous circular pattern, moving outward from the center of the patch to fade it into the surrounding wall. It is crucial to move quickly; if the texture becomes too heavy in one spot, it will start to run. The oil-based Homax product is preferred because it dries in about 5 minutes, significantly reducing the chance of runs compared to water-based alternatives, which tend to apply heavier and run more easily.

Goal: Apply texture to the patch to blend with the existing wall

If it gets too heavy, the texture will run. And I like using a oilbased product. This oil-based product dries in 5 minutes and you're less likely to get runs. They sell a product that's a water-based product, but it really has a tendency to come out too heavy and it has a tendency to run and then you can't sand it quickly and paint it. We want to be able to paint it quickly and be done with this project going to the next project. So, I start off. I've tested it out. It's framed good for me. And so, I'm going to start in the middle and just do a quick circular pattern. So, I go and I want to get the right distance. If I'm too close, it's going to be too heavy. I'm going to stand back about a foot and just like that. It's just a little circular pattern. I can look at it, see if it's too heavy or too light. And if I need to put on a little bit more, I can just put on just a little bit more. And less is better because if there's not enough, you can go back and put just a slight bit more. If you put too much on to begin with, you're going to have to sand it all off and redo it again. But that looks pretty good right there. And then if we'll let it dry about 5 minutes. And if the pattern on the wall looks like it's a little bit flatter, we just take a sanding sponge and we'll just rub the sanding sponge over it very, very lightly just to knock down any heavy little spots on it. And then
