Spraying interior ceilings. Painting Ceilings With An Airless Paint Sprayer

This is Chris and Boise. In this video, we're going to show you how to spray a ceiling. And we're going to be using a different technique, spraying the ceiling. I've actually got two extension poles. I've hooked them together. They're one of them's about a 12 in and one's about a 14in extension pole. And I've been spraying the walls. I use these extension or not poles, but actually wands, extension wands, and I use them to spray the walls with. And I just got to spray this ceiling right here, and it's a little bit too high for me to reach. So, instead of going getting the spray pole that we actually attached the gun to. I just grabbed another extension and hooked it on there. And this way I can do the ceilings without getting on a ladder. We'll show you how we do these do a ceiling with these two extension ones hooked on. I'm actually spraying these ceilings. I'm using a 621 tip. I want a wider uh fan pattern so I can cover more area faster. And I got a larger tip size or size so I can coat it all in one in one coat. I want to do this only in one coat. So I have to do this looking overhead again and spray and sealing again. It's a little bit hard on your neck spraying. So I want to do it in one coat. So a Graco 621 tip, two extension wands, and we got our Graco 695 sprayer hooked up and it's about 3/4 pressure. And we're spraying a Treasure Valley eggshell on this. We're going to be showing you the ceiling here. We're spraying a ceiling in this bedroom and we've already sprayed the walls and now we've gone around and masked the ceiling line with 9 in paper and 1 in um 1 in tape and then we've just dropped 9x400 plastic down the walls so we don't get any fallout overspray down the walls. And it's pretty fast. Only takes about 10 minutes to do a room this way. And you just run around your plastic up. It's actually a little bit better to put your plastic up first and then put your 9 in paper over that. We actually um on this room, we're in a hurry, put the the paper up first and then the plastic up second. So then we had to run 1 in tape over where our plastic is to keep the the dust from falling down. If you get dust fall down, it'll collect on the walls and discolor your walls. So you definitely want your walls dropped with 9x400 plastic. And then once it's dropped like this, then you can go along and spray it. And as soon as you spray the room, you want to pull your plastic off immediately. The plastic and the paper Once again, I'm spraying in this ceiling using an 18-in uh gun extension. I'm using a Rackax 621 tip. I'm running by Graco 695 sprayer at approximately 3/4 pressure. There's a a notch mark on the pressure dial that's sitting at about 2:00 and I run the pressure at about 2:00, which is about 2200 PSI. And spray this anyways. And we'll continue spraying this till we're done. masking.
