LSXcalade Rebuild: Dart Block 427 Goes In & Custom Accessories Explained!

What happens here

Install a custom-made steam vent crossover line system. This system, made with Redhorse components and Earl's adapters, connects all four corners of the cylinder heads to equalize coolant pressure and eliminate air bubbles, routing back to a steam port on the radiator. It also includes a fuel pressure regulator and associated lines that run neatly under the throttle body and to the fuel rails, ensuring no wires are visible from the intake manifold.

Goal: Integrate the custom cooling and fuel components for optimal performance and a clean aesthetic

Tools and materials

  • Aluminum Bracket Homemade — Mounting the fuel pressure regulator
  • Custom Steam Vent Crossover Homemade — Equalizing coolant pressure and eliminating air bubbles
  • Earl's Adapters Earl's — Connecting steam vent lines to the engine
  • Fuel Pressure Regulator — Regulating fuel pressure to the engine
  • Hammer — Shaping custom aluminum brackets
  • Redhorse Components Redhorse — Building the custom steam vent lines (e.g., -4 AN fittings)
  • Vice — Holding and shaping custom aluminum brackets

worked out starting to get stuff cleaned up enough now to where we can be putting it back on this contraption i'm holding right here is my homemade steam vent crossover which i realized was still attached to the radiator when i remembered that it goes on before the regulator does and the regulator i'll show you here what this little doodad bracket does there's a whole mess of stuff under here that gets um covered up by the intake manifold and it's really really jammed in there it's really hard to fish everything through because of all the stuff that's there but it looks 10 gazillion times better because you don't have any wires visible um outside the intake manifold this bracket here is literally just the you know piece of aluminum from hardware store screwed into where the original bracket was and i just took the time to make a really specifically bent piece that would go share valley cover bolt hole and have because you can't just have it be straight like that you have to have that piece down there to locate it so it can't turn otherwise it would want to turn and it wouldn't be straightly perfect anymore and that would drive me crazy and you can see there's a bunch of dents on there i did this before i ever had a break or anything i made this with a hammer and a vice so if you have the patience to make nice things you can it's a big component because this holds out there hides right under the throttle body and the fuel lines go up into the rails and you don't even see the return and the feeds are in the back of the rail so you don't see anything at all and this is part of it too this steam vent um made it with red horse components and these little adapter things on the end that come from earl's that go into here we'll show you in a second now places like motion make hardline kits for these but they stick up pretty high above the valley so i made my own out of just dash four and fittings and that just kind of equalizes the coolant pressure from the four corners of the head and then goes back to a steam port on the radiator just to kind of eliminate air bubbles and stuff it's uh it's pretty cool so we're gonna get all that on there now
