Twin Turbo Escalade First Drive: LSXcalade Is BACK! We Take It Out For a Quick Test Drive..

today's the day what are we doing today driving yes we're driving the escalade for the first time with this new engine and stuff as you could tell uh we have some reassembly to do including putting the bead lock rings back on because logan did a really good job polishing these wheels up yesterday you don't need anything super fancy to do this you just get like you know drill one of your cone deals and we like this stuff the way diamond metal polish works really good yeah we'll have to move mr forbes somehow some some way or another well i'll figure that out uh the relays came for the monte carlo fan maybe we could go forward enough to just go around it i don't know we might have to we might have to play some tetris here we didn't really think about that whenever we did this we'll figure it out first things first let's get this thing put back together and put it on the ground that was like the only thing i was dreading the entire time and he said we're gonna go drive it today i was just like i don't wanna move mr forbes it's really heavy mr forbes does not like to be moved we're in quite the process here yeah push mr forbes over push a bunch of nonsense over because we're kind of like it's a little big log jam here once the escalade runs which is about to in like 20 minutes next plan of attack is put the fan relays in the monte carlo and fix the transmission wire will be a video on that then there's a multi-mobile they can get out of here mr forbes rolls royce can go right where the escalade is then we're gonna get the lift put up there get going on uncle george but mostly what i was explaining all this is once we can get the rolls over here and these two out of the way we can get that big frame table out of here and finish this part of the wall and attack all of this mess that's still left here for not being able to move that so that's what we're doing here i'm about to lower the escalade down onto casters on the front so i can slide the front this way to go around right out the door let me repeat that again round right out the door yeah the ac works in this thing but the heater core is not plumbed to the engine so that's why i recommend she get her jacket um the heated seats work though essentials it's in park okay we haven't even tried to like put it in drive yet but we're just we're just gonna assume that it's gonna work so [Music] yeah it needs a little tweaking from the different head set up [Music] come on [Music] now we uh close the hood and see if it'll move [Music] [Applause] we didn't put any power steering fluid in it yet because we're not sure if it leaks so that's why it was like hard to turn [Music] yeah i've never driven this thing without power steering by the only time i'd ever have is whenever it flings a belt we're getting up to uh where's the coolant temperature out there over there 174. thing has a extreme automatics full manual valve body in it it's the only reason the 4l80 is able to stay together right now we're not going to do anything crazy we're just going to you know drive around some back roads here make sure everything all the temperature all the oil pressure and everything is up the park okay the air fuel ratio just like flushed red that was the only time it did it oh yeah i have the tune analyze live on which is ms3's term for auto tune so it's gonna have a little bit of trimming around to do with the new cylinder head combination feel a lot more vibrations than or like i feel so much more of the road without power steering is odd it's weird because my brain is in uh manual mode now i'm looking for a clutch pedal and there isn't one 69. nice i let off at 69 miles an hour yes it's just like i guess that's just habit i don't know i just knew it in my soul that that was 69 apparently do you hear that whining whenever we're at low speed yeah that's the straight cut gears if i'm being honest it was really funny because i thought that there was a cop behind us with her siren on and then i realized quickly that it wasn't a cop yeah every time you are at low speed and this thing goes because the planetary gear set in the transmission is billet it's like pro mod gears they're straight cut they're not helical so they make noise like you hear the old four-speed m22 they called the rock crusher because it made noise it's because they had straight cut gears in that transmission too the shifter linkage needs some adjusting i could feel it's not quite landing in the gates like it's supposed to i would imagine it may have gotten tweaked or bent around a little bit when the transmission was all like ratchet strapped up to the um the body uh yeah yeah it ruined from texas north carolina like that everything in here works better than it does in elvis the daily driver the dom lights are better the sound system's better the heated seats are better everything's better this thing is like literally it's the nicest vehicle we have we're gonna daily drive it for a while just order some wheels for it you think you're gonna like them it's not what you would normally nobody would ever guess what we're doing so we'll just have to wait and see does anybody know where we are yet well i think this is the goodest place any to stop and check to see if there's anything leaking good check under the hood [Music] everything looks good so we're gonna stop by uh jeff at heinz racing and see if he's still there if we can bug him about getting this thing on the dyno soon what's up first test drive and it sounded badass it seemed to work okay we had good oil pressure didn't get too hot we didn't catch on fire knock on wood about as good as the first drive could go i think right what do we have to go for get this thing on the dyno we're not right now but like in the next uh indefinite amount of time soon-ish hopefully i think we can probably make that happen okay i don't know if we'll give it the beans yet but we'll at least like get it cleaned up because it's got it's got the different heads on it now so it's not quite uh it's run started and drives fine but it's you know i think the trims will be a little off yeah get her broke in a little bit and see what she does what does a broken mean just do some heat cycles and put a few miles on her so i shouldn't do a huge burnout yet probably wouldn't do a huge burnout yet but i mean uh i mean that has been done before uh we fired up bowman's and uh rolled it out in the road and he put it on the chip so his drift car uh no that was the c10 oh yeah the drift car is still still in pieces okay maybe we'll save the burnout for daylight that's right get some better you gotta get the full effect yeah that's right this doesn't do it justice if you do in the dark okay so first test drive in over a year with the new engine setup looks like i forgot to tighten this i just realized that right at this very second right now which is cool but um kind of the upcoming agenda things we need to change are adjust the shift or linkage because it doesn't it doesn't fit between the gates right not like it's supposed to we need to add power steering fluid and the reason why we didn't do that before was um it leaked i think because all that in there was always oily we changed the feed lime just a pile of crap right there it was like crusty i don't show it to you yeah suspect that this oh yeah yeah well cool i'm just gonna put that back i think it may have been leaking because it was across the pennsylvania winter thing yeah some of you may know it that was one of the original things that was left on there one of the few original things yeah it's all been changed now or anything important anything rust-able pretty much has except the frame but we just painted it so it looks nice went through three winters but power steering stuff kind of always gets credit because it's really hard to clean it off we wanted to make sure it wasn't leaking oil somewhere else we didn't see any oil leaks now so we will add the power steering fluid and go and drive it again and if it still leaks then we know that it's power steering fluid um other now i'm pretty happy yeah i think next plan of attack we're gonna do that and then we're gonna go find some do an entire video of just like don't tell them we gotta get people excited though it needs to be like a surprise like just like random video pops up and it's all looks like it's christmas all over again that's a good point people who don't watch to the end or don't watch the parts of the video won't know so they could suck it i'm glad you didn't say oh it rattles too much or it's way louder it's annoying to ride in or anything like that no it's okay you don't have a stupid fart can subaru so i think we're okay okay that's good take note boys if you have a fart can on your car go remove it yeah we need to get another one of these cover things because it freaking blew off into the stratosphere when i had to make a pass without a hood on the last day race week it's gone forever it's probably in the grass somewhere in tulsa we don't know oh yeah that's where that happened that's funny caney probably has it somewhere is still my favorite yeah that was kind of like the demo i made that one the final cutter on a random texas license plate that i found on the side of the road when going for a walk one day there was this one spot on the road because i found the first one when i was on the phone with you and then we walked by there a couple days later and there were like 20 more of them someone just dumped a bunch of license plates on the side of the road and we took them all so maybe they were stolen vehicles we don't know who's rambling at this point has nothing to do with anything well we were back in a
