Prepare Deck Platform and Layout Walls
At 0:00 in
It’s almost time to frame up a new project, so I’m revisiting some old framing clips! #shorts
What happens here
Before commencing any vertical framing, ensure the existing deck platform is level, stable, and capable of supporting the additional load of the walls and roof. Any necessary repairs or reinforcements to the deck structure should be completed at this stage. Once the deck is ready, use chalk lines and measuring tapes to precisely lay out the positions of the bottom wall plates (sole plates) for all perimeter walls of the planned addition. This layout is crucial for ensuring the walls are correctly aligned and plumb.
Goal: The initial step involves preparing the existing deck structure to serve as the stable floor platform for the new addition. This includes ensuring the deck is structurally sound and accurately marking the layout for the new wall frames on its surface.
