It’s almost time to frame up a new project, so I’m revisiting some old framing clips! #shorts

What happens here

Identify any large openings required in the wall structure, such as for sliding doors or wide windows. Cut and install the appropriate header beam (often a built-up beam or an engineered lumber product) above this opening. The header transfers the load from above to the king studs and jack studs on either side of the opening. Ensure the header is level and securely fastened. With the main perimeter walls and any large headers in place, the wall framing is considered complete and ready for the roof structure.

Goal: A substantial header beam is installed over a large opening in one of the framed walls, indicating a door or wide window. This step finalizes the primary vertical wall framing, creating the structural integrity for the roof to be built upon.
