It’s almost time to frame up a new project, so I’m revisiting some old framing clips! #shorts

What happens here

On the prepared deck surface, cut and assemble the lumber for the rear wall frame. This involves cutting bottom and top plates, and individual studs to length. Lay out the stud spacing on the plates (typically 16 inches or 24 inches on center) and nail or screw the studs between the plates. Ensure any window or door rough openings are framed correctly within this section. Once assembled flat, enlist sufficient help to carefully tilt the entire wall section up to a vertical position. Secure it temporarily with diagonal braces from the wall to the deck to prevent it from falling, and verify it is plumb using a level.

Goal: Workers begin by assembling the first major wall section, typically the longest or most critical, flat on the deck platform. After assembly, this wall section is carefully tilted up and temporarily braced into its permanent vertical position, forming the back wall of the addition.
