It’s almost time to frame up a new project, so I’m revisiting some old framing clips! #shorts

What happens here

On any sections of the deck that remain open, construct the railing system. This typically includes installing sturdy vertical posts at regular intervals (e.g., 4-6 feet apart) and securing them to the deck frame. Then, cut and install horizontal top and bottom rail members between the posts. Depending on design and code, vertical balusters or infill panels may also be framed between the top and bottom rails. Ensure all railing components are securely fastened and meet local building code requirements for height and strength, providing a safe and finished perimeter to the new addition.

Goal: To complete the structural framing of the addition, railings are constructed on any open sides of the deck. This involves installing vertical posts and horizontal rail members to define the space and provide safety.
