I Built My Daughter A Dream Bunk Bed

What happens here

Cut MDF sheets to size using a track saw for the back panel and side panels of the bed. Use 1/2-inch thick MDF for non-structural elements and 3/4-inch thick MDF for areas needing more strength. Attach the cut MDF panels to the wooden frame using a brad nailer. Add additional screws with the cordless drill for extra support where needed.

Goal: Cover the bed frame with MDF panels to create the bed's structure and aesthetic.

Tools and materials

  • Brad Nailer Ryobi — Attaching the MDF panels to the wooden frame
  • Cordless Drill Ryobi — Adding screws for extra reinforcement
  • MDF Sheets — Creating the bed's back panel, side panels, and internal compartments
  • Track Saw Kreg — Making precise, straight cuts on the large MDF sheets
  • Wood Screws — Reinforcing panel attachments

long now that we got the whole thing framed out it's time to start wrapping it I'm choosing to go with MDF just cuz I don't need the structural support of plywood and it's a lot more inexpensive and it's a lot easier to paint and to save a little bit more coin for the stuff that doesn't need too much structural backbone I'm using half inch MDF and for the stuff that needs a little more o we'll use 3/4 let's slice [Music] now I'm not going to pull the whole overprotective D thing but with a paie overhead I think it might be a good idea to throw some screws on there just for support so I'm getting ready to start wrapping the sides of this uh I am going to put cleats down here so I have to count whatever this height plus another 3/4 but I also needed to go a little a little bit higher to maybe an inch so that the mattress doesn't get pushed
