I Built My Daughter A Dream Bunk Bed

What happens here

Calculate the dimensions for the stair risers and treads. The builder decides to stack two layers of 3/4-inch MDF to create each step, ensuring consistent height and depth. Use a circular saw to cut the MDF pieces. Glue these pieces together, then use a brad nailer and screws for a secure bond. Assemble the stair unit, which resembles a small cabinet, using wood glue, pocket holes, and screws. This creates a sturdy, functional set of stairs with storage compartments.

Goal: Construct a functional and stable stair unit with integrated storage.

kiddo can go up top so on the previous bunk bed that I've built see here here that has stairs I decided to frame out the whole thing with 2x4s and that was a lot harder than it should be cuz you can't keep it consistent so I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to cut my sheet of MDF down stack them together like a sandwich and then measure out all my risers for them that way it'll be completely perfect mirror image of each other we can connect them together and then at that point we can actually have drawers that pull out let's slice I'm trying to use this online staircase calculator and it's not working for some reason maybe I'm just dumb but regardless this has to be the maximum drop off because the ledge is 63 which gives them about 12 in to get down to the first step so I have to consider this to be the first step and then work my way out it's it's like doing long division and you're hungry and the car is on fire we'll figure it out got a solution 12 risers 10 across all the way up the last one's going to be about 12 in oh or the last one's going to be about 2 in over and then that'll give us another 16 for them to climb in it should work not a perfect solution but it'll be too much expensive to get another sheet and just make it even longer besides I don't want the staircase to be super long all right we're again somewhere here's the general gist of it I'm treating like a cabinet so it's going to have a bottom sides back and then these are going to come on top of the stairs going to pocket all these together sandwich the sucker together and then we'll be able to start working on the steps and the cabinet drawers and all that fun stuff but lots of pocket [Music] holes all right this thing is coming together it looks great we have our sections for the drawers now for anybody in the comment section it's going to be like oh MDF now they're going to hold up it's going to be perfectly strong besides all the strength is going to come from these stringers so I'm going to have stair treads on top solid wood so it's going to distribute the weight there and uh this is basically one giant
