what the f uck I didn't see this one we did the walk through this entire thing's just collapsing on this welcome to Mr buildup's new shop it's disgusting as you guys saw from my episode we bought an abandoned house that Irene has never seen and we finally did a house story check out that video previous video that we put out last week oh my gosh this is the garage that will be our new maker space things the fact that this lifts up to dump it all out because I would well I probably wouldn't be standing in front of you I'd probably be dead if I had to manually unload it as well I'm just glad years right yeah yeah what do you know about the guy that lived here I'm curious yeah Jim I think was a retired truck driver and after he retired he started working on computers and I think he was the one that does a lot of troubleshooting so he was up most of the night and he'd sleep during the day and his health finally got to him yeah older gentleman yeah he's in his 70s what's up what's with the nine lawn mowers that I saw in the backyard oh he might have been a Cadillac and a lawnmower collector you have Cadillacs yeah you had four of them in the backyard four yeah you got the bumper still there yeah they come and clean those out before they got it sold so was this did he build this garage that I'm I have no idea no he lived here before I built I'm surprised it didn't collapse yet old wood is hard to beat huh yeah yeah this new wood it would have collapsed that's true those uh growth rings on those things yeah so did he was he a pretty social guy or anything like that uh not as far as neighborhood he uh went down and shot pool and stuff down at his favorite little hangout yeah you hear the Cadillac Roar out of here on Friday night yeah we're back in oh that's funny so the family they they you told me they wanted nothing to do with the house or anything like that no I uh after he passed away there was a couple that showed up here and they introduced themselves to me and she was his daughter and her husband and they lived down in Arizona yeah so they cleaned out whatever they thought was salvageable and took two or three loads to the dump so they could get through the front door oh was that really kind of hoarded up huh oh yeah oh really I really hope with this transformation we'll do the house Justice and make the street beautiful and hopefully he's up there in heaven looking down on a pretty Place yeah I don't know if it made any difference to him or not yeah well hey Mike I appreciate you coming out here and sharing a little bit about Jim yeah it'll make a mean the roof is saggy this is all rotten Away by the way over the breaker box how safe is that and then this is just on a borderline of falling apart so three of the four walls are in terrible shape plus the roof guys I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do got this section all cleared out all we got to do now is get rid of this workbench and then get rid of the main workbench over there and then we'll uh we'll be I guess somewhat of a blank slate [Music] let me give you kids a lesson on putting up walls studs they don't go this way they go this way look at all this Flex that's not good [Music] broke my hammer this is the only thing that's dividing the wall from here to the garage some wainscoting thank you no freaking way oh and that's cardboard by the way what is this this is like there's no header and that piece is Rodney off I'm really surprised nothing's falling down there's essentially a curtain expensive curtain [Music] so I think this used to be the exterior wall and then they cut it off and then they just created out of scraps the back portion of it it can't get worse than this it honestly cannot get worse than this in order everything's falling apart ceiling joists are bowing down and the supports I mean these are one by sixes I mean that's not holding anything up the roof is legitimately caving in and that section is completely rotting out I don't know if I'll be able to safely bring my tools in here I don't know how long the structure will last this is where my new shop would be can you believe this [Music] I'm really nervous about tearing down any walls especially even though this is doesn't seem like it's holding much well this one kind of is I think that's load bearing inappropriately set up but load bearing so until I figure out how to get a reinforcements in here that section is going to stay there because those ceiling trusses are on there let's break down this workbench foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right I crunched the numbers this post and this post are supporting this makeshift ceiling joist but this wall that's clearly not even standing the right way is doing nothing but keeping this little ledge up for uh storage so I think we could safely remove it oh boy uh just one I thought this project couldn't get more stressful I just got not one but two Nails in the dump trailer and it's got weight in it right now so I'm rushing to O'Reilly's right now try to pick up a tire patch kit so this tight so this trailer tire doesn't lose too much air because it's already getting filled up and that's gonna be a lot more difficult to fill up with a tiny little plug-in accessory air pump so let's see what we can do so here's one culprit right there uh this was another one I pulled it out and I was bleeding way too much air obviously so to slow it down a hair I put a drill bit in there so hopefully we can get this puppy recovered quickly oh that was some NASCAR work right there didn't lose too much air in the uh we got a great open concept more than that I got exposure to the roof situation so we could figure out what to do I don't know what to do with my tools they're all in storage I need my tools I only have small little pack out so I don't even know what's going to happen tune in next week we'll strip these walls and uh see if we need to demolish this thing or if we could actually fix the structure
