HOW TO PAINT CABINETS. Our entire cabinet painting process exposed.
What happens here
The HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray system is preferred over airless sprayers for cabinet painting due to its ability to produce a finer, automotive-like finish with significantly less overspray. Unlike airless sprayers which push 100% paint, HVLP systems mix air with paint, allowing for adjustable spray patterns and higher transfer efficiency. The PPS (Paint Preparation System) cup system further enhances this by using disposable liners, minimizing cleanup time and product waste. The PPS system also allows the sprayer to be used upside down, which is beneficial for various angles and smaller projects without needing to refill large amounts of product.
Goal: Learn the benefits of HVLP and PPS systems for cabinet painting.
Tools and materials
- Air Compressor — Providing compressed air for the HVLP system
- HVLP Spray Gun — Applying paint/lacquer with high transfer efficiency and fine finish
- PPS Cup Liners — Holding paint in the HVLP system for quick changes and cleanup
