HOW TO PAINT CABINETS. Our entire cabinet painting process exposed.

What happens here

After priming, apply the chosen topcoat. The video emphasizes using pre-catalyzed (pre-cat) high-build lacquer for its durability, chemical resistance, and smooth finish, typically applied in two coats. This type of lacquer offers immediate dry times, allowing for sanding (if needed) and applying subsequent coats within 15 minutes. For this specific project, a custom 'Plymouth Brown' glaze is applied over a Benjamin Moore 'Providence Olive' pigmented lacquer base. After glazing, a clear topcoat is necessary to seal the glaze and provide additional chemical resistance, as glaze alone is not durable.

Goal: Achieve the desired color and durable finish on the cabinets.
