How to Build a Backyard Water Feature
What happens here
Prepare the water pump by attaching the corrugated tubing to its outlet. Place the pump inside a filter bag to prevent debris from entering and damaging it. Take a 4-foot long section of 1-inch PVC pipe. Use a tape measure and marker to mark drilling points every 1 inch along the pipe's length. With a drill, create small holes at each mark. These will be the exit points for the water. Apply Oatey Purple Primer to one end of the PVC pipe and the inside of a 90-degree slip-on PVC adapter. Follow with Oatey All Purpose Cement on both surfaces and quickly join them, twisting slightly to ensure a strong, waterproof seal. Repeat this process to attach an end cap to the opposite end of the PVC pipe. Finally, connect the corrugated tubing (coming from the pump) to the remaining open end of the 90-degree PVC adapter, securing it with a hose clamp to prevent leaks.
Goal: Prepare the pump and create the perforated sprinkler pipe.
