Second Tier Excavation and Utility Line Repairs

Everything You Need To Know Before Building a Retaining Wall
What happens here
The excavation for the second tier of the retaining wall is completed, creating a stepped appearance. The excavator then begins digging the footing for the base layer of the retaining blocks. During this process, a water line and an electrical conduit are accidentally damaged. The water line is pinched, requiring repair to prevent future issues, and the electrical conduit is broken, but thankfully contains no live wires. The crew needs to relocate the electrical utility box, as its current position is too low for the planned grade, so a new trench is dug. While waiting for materials for the repairs and the base, the crew plans to spread road mix and prepare the sub-base.
Goal: Complete the second tier excavation, repair damaged utility lines, and prepare the sub-base for the wall's foundation.
